Code of Conduct for Recreational

  • If your child is unable to attend their gymnastics class for 3 weeks or more, please let the club know.

  • Jewellery is not permitted to be worn during any gymnastics class. More information see the BG Jewellery Policy.

  • Gymnasts that arrive more than 10 minutes late will be unable to take part in their session as they will miss out on most of the warm up which is a vital as helps the prevention of injury and can be disruptive to others.

  • Please ensure you collect your child/children on time.

  • All children must be collected from inside the club.

  • Please do not drop your child early and leave them unattended. The Club cannot be responsible for any children until they enter their gym class.

  • All lost property will be cleared every 3 months. Please check you have all your/ your child's belongings before you leave the gym.

  • Please let the club know of any changes. change of address, email address, phone numbers, medical details.

  • If a gymnast decides to leave the club, 30 days notice must be provided in writing in order. Should sufficient notice not be given the following month’s fees will still be payable.

Clothing for Recreational

  • Girls must wear a gymnastics leotard. No skirt!​​ Boys must wear a gymnastics leotard and gymnastics shorts.

  • Gymnastics shorts are permitted to be worn.

  • Hair that can be tied up must be tied up.

Leotards can be purchased/ordered through the club.

Code of Conduct for Competitive Squad

  • Competitive gymnasts should attend every planned session. Parents/Guardians should inform their gymnasts coach and/or management of any planned absence or holiday as soon as possible. So the club can work out competitions for the gymnast.

  • Gymnasts should always arrive on time for their session. All gymnasts should attend warm up. as this is a vital part of the training session which helps the prevention of injury.

  • Jewellery is not permitted to be worn during any gymnastics class. More information see the BG Jewellery Policy.

  • Gymnasts with an injury or condition may still attend training sessions but must fill appropriate form. Please see coach to discuss in further detail.

  • Never Criticise the performance of any other competitor or official.

  • If using social media sites to discuss their gymnastics, do so in a sensible and respectful manner which reflects well upon themselves, their team mates and their club.

  • Do not leave the gym without obtaining the permission of a coach.

  • Tell a coach if they believe that another member of the class is being bullied or unfairly treated by other participants in the gym.

  • Listen to and follow the instructions of their coaches at all times.

  • Tell a coach if they have any injuries or feeling unwell during a class.

  • Do not attempt a new move or series of move without the permission, support or supervision of a coach.

  • We aim for all squad members to do a minimum of 3 competitions a year. Sometimes we may ask you to do more. Not all competitions are suitable for all gymnasts. Some gymnasts might be asked to do different competitions to others. This is all dependant all ability, age, level, experience. Please respect the clubs decision.

  • At all competition, squads, trials and other events at which they represent Whitehall GC. Behave in a manner which reflects positively on the club and promotes its good reputation.

  • All squad gymnasts require a floor routine which is taught in a 1-2-1 session. The cost of this is £30-£50

  • Open back leotards are not encouraged.

  • Gymnastics shorts are permitted to be worn.

  • Hair that can be tied up must be tied up. Ensure hair is in a bun, plaited or braided and completely out of the gymnasts face as this can be extremely dangerous.

  • A competition squad leotard and tracksuit must be worn for all competitions and can only be purchased through the club.
