Competition & Representation Policy

When invited to take part in a competition, gymnasts are expected to represent the club in a positive and respectful manner at all times. By entering competitions and events under/with Whitehall Gymnastics Club you are agreeing to the competition and representation policy.

Competition Attire

  • Gymnasts must wear the official Whitehall Gymnastics Club leotard.

  • If a tracksuit is worn, it must be the official Whitehall Gymnastics Club tracksuit.

Please note that once your child has been entered into a competition, no refunds can be issued.

If your child is unable to compete due to medical reasons, there may be a possibility of a refund upon receipt of a doctor’s note. This will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The club reserves the right to withdraw a gymnast from a competition if it is felt that they are not physically or mentally ready to compete. This decision will always be made in the best interest of the gymnast.

Unfortunately, late entries or late payments cannot be accepted.

At all competitions, squad sessions, trials, and any other events where gymnasts represent the club, all members (gymnasts and parents/guardians) are expected to behave in a manner that reflects positively on the club and upholds its reputation.

Parents and guardians must:

  • Not enter the gym or competition floor unless authorised

  • Respect all club and event rules

  • Not coach their child during competitions, as this is the responsibility of the coaching team

This helps ensure the gymnast remains focused and able to perform to the best of their ability. Failure to follow these guidelines may affect future opportunities for the gymnast.

Hair & Jewellery

  • Hair must be neatly tied back and secure.

  • No jewellery is to be worn, including earrings, unless they cannot be removed and are securely taped.

Punctuality

  • Gymnasts must arrive at the venue at the time given by the club.

  • Late arrival may affect their ability to compete.

Warm-up Behaviour

  • Gymnasts must stay with their coach during warm-ups and throughout the competition.

  • Parents should not approach gymnasts during competition unless directed by a coach.

Sportsmanship

  • Gymnasts are expected to show respect to judges, coaches, volunteers, and fellow competitors at all times.

  • Positive behaviour, encouragement, and good manners are essential when representing the club.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us or speak to a member of the coaching team.
