Code of Conduct & Kit Guidelines

Recreational Gymnastics – Code of Conduct
​
To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all, parents and gymnasts are asked to follow these guidelines:

If your child will be unable to attend their gymnastics class for 3 weeks or more, please notify the club.

Jewellery is not permitted during any gymnastics class. Please see the British Gymnastics Jewellery Policy for guidance.

Gymnasts arriving more than 10 minutes late may be unable to participate, as warm-up is a vital part of training to prevent injury and maintain safety.

Please collect children on time from inside the club. Children must never be left unattended in the gym or car park. The club cannot accept responsibility for children until they are registered in their session.

Lost property is cleared every 3 months. Please ensure you have all belongings before leaving.

Keep the club updated on any changes to contact details, medical information, or address.

If a child cannot attend due to prolonged illness or injury, refunds may be issued with a doctor’s note. Note that spaces cannot be reserved while a refund is issued.

If a gymnast decides to leave the club, 30 days’ written notice is required. Failure to provide notice will result in the following month’s fees being payable.

Children must be dropped off and collected in the gym or designated corridor areas.

Recreational Gymnastics – Clothing Guidelines

Girls: Gymnastics leotard (no skirts).

Boys: Gymnastics leotard and shorts.
-
Gymnastics shorts are permitted; leggings or jogging bottoms are not allowed.

Long hair must be tied back securely.

Leotards are available to purchase from the club’s leotard rail.

Competitive Squad – Code of Conduct
Competitive gymnasts and their parents/guardians are expected to:

Attend all scheduled training sessions. Notify coaches/management of any absences or planned holidays in advance.

Arrive on time and participate in the warm-up, which is essential for safety and performance.

Jewellery is not permitted during any gymnastics class.

Gymnasts with injuries may still attend sessions, but an injury form must be completed and discussed with a coach.

Never criticise other gymnasts or officials.

Use social media responsibly; any discussion about gymnastics should be positive, respectful, and reflect well on themselves, teammates, and the club.

Do not leave the gym without coach permission.
-
Report any bullying or unfair treatment to a coach immediately.

Listen to and follow coaches’ instructions at all times.

Report any injuries or illness to a coach.
-
Do not attempt new moves without coach supervision and approval.

Squad gymnasts are expected to compete in a minimum of two competitions per year, although some may be asked to participate in additional events. Selection is based on age, ability, level, and experience. Please respect the club’s decisions.

1-to-1 floor routine sessions are mandatory for all squad gymnasts, costing between £30–£50.

Children must be dropped off into the gym and collected from the corridor, with parents remaining until class starts.

At competitions, trials, and events, gymnasts and parents must behave respectfully, promoting the club’s good reputation. Parents should not coach their child, as this is the responsibility of the official coaches. Non-compliance may affect future opportunities.

Competitive Squad – Clothing Guidelines

Leotards: Gymnastics-specific; open-back leotards are discouraged. Must be secure and streamlined for safety.

Shorts: Plain black gymnastics shorts permitted, with no visible branding.

Hair: Must be tied up securely (bun, braid, or plait).

Competition apparel: Squad leotard and tracksuit are mandatory and available through the club only.
Uniformity ensures a level playing field, removes distractions, and fosters team spirit and professionalism.

Valuables & Lost Property
​
Any personal items brought into the club are done so at your own risk. The club cannot accept liability for items lost or damaged on site.
Lost property that is found will be kept at Reception.
Unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of each month. Items lost just prior to month-end will still be donated.
Dropping off & Collecting your child
​
Parents/Guardians are responsible for their child until handed over to the coach at the start of the class. Children must not be left alone before the start of the class.
Parents/Guardians are expected to collect their children on time. If you know that you are going to be late collecting your child for any reason you must contact the club ASAP. Parents who are more than 15 minutes late in collecting their child will be charged £10 unless there are exceptional circumstances. Parents that are regularly late in collecting their child will be asked to attend a meeting with the coaches which can result in your child being asked to leave the club.

Car parking
​
Please be respectful with your parking, as failure to follow this rule will have a negative impact upon our relations with the other companies in the business park.
Supervision of children, please note that the supervision of children not participating in any gymnastic sessions is the sole responsibility of their parents or guardians. Children within the facility must be supervised at all times. The club will not accept any liability for injury caused to children in the public areas.
